Definition
This laser is a laser that uses rare-earth-doped fluoride fiber (such as Er³⁺:ZBLAN, Ho³⁺/Pr³⁺ co-doped fiber) as the gain medium and generates ultrashort pulses on the order of femtoseconds (fs) or picoseconds (ps) in the 2.8μm band through nonlinear polarization rotation mode-locking, semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors (SESAM), and other technologies.
